Black Byrd is proud to announce that it is going back to it's roots and will be made locally in Melbourne for Summer 13. Producing our range locally enables us to serve our accounts better, more efficiently and more often. We can turn around product within a month from when a store views our range to when it hits your shop floor. It's great for product that flies and needs to be reordered.
As fashion is ever evolving, Nathan Brown, the owner and designer of Black Byrd, has decided to bring a bit of the past back to Black Byrd from his days when he owned successful Melbourne label St Lenny and is putting a scent through the clothes. The idea behind it all revolves around the bodies' senses. You can see the product, touch the product and now you can smell the product. Nathan still has people who ask him about the scent he put in St Lenny's clothes and the common theme they tell him is that whenever they walked into a store they immediately knew it stocked St Lenny from the smell. Store owners loved the concept just as much as it gave their store a great fresh aroma.
With back end support from the boys who run Deft Division, Blackbyrd has produced a boutique range for summer with a soft, summery colour palate which incorporates a summer blue, tinge green, gold butter, off white and the old favourites of vintage black and washed navy. The look is distinctively more vintage in it's washes and a fresh approach for Black Byrd with its nondescript, blend in to the background graphics and super soft hand feel coming from the heavy blended acid and silicone treatments.
